Americo Cala

Born into a family of artisans in Cuzco, Peru, in 1964, Americo Cala began assisting his father when he was just 3 years old, and started painting landscapes on his own by the age 6. By the time he was10 he had developed a discipline and commitment to his work, and could be frequently found at the ateliers of the best artists in Cuzo.

Cala studied painting at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Lima and finished in just 5 years. Cala continues to paint landscapes and has developed many highly regarded techniques.

Cala's paintings are found in some of the most important collections in Peru, and are shown in many of the country's most exclusive galleries.
